You have successfully completed the registration. You should already have received an e-mail from us.

Your next steps:

1. Log in to the usersuite#

Log in to the usersuite with your username and password. There you will find an overview of your user account.

If you have chosen a move-in date in the future, you will see when your membership starts. In this case, your room will be set in your account on the day you move in.

2. Is there already WiFi in my dormitory?#

If you have already moved in and are a member, you now have the possibility to use the network connection.

In some dormitories we already offer WiFi from us. If your dormitory is already covered and how to set up the WiFi network on your device, can be found out on our information page about WiFi.

The WiFi password can be found in the usersuite.

3. Activate network access#

If you want to use the cable connection in your room, you can activate your network connection in the usersuite.

For this we need the MAC address of your network device and your date of birth.

If you have already connected your network device, you should see your MAC address when you visit http://captive-portal.agdsn.de/ (important: http and not https). If this is not the case, you can find out your MAC address in different ways:

Windows:

• Start cmd
• Execute getmac /v and copy the physical address of the Ethernet adapter (not WLAN or WiFi)

Linux:

• Execute ifconfig -a and copy ether or HWaddr of your Ethernet adapter (eth0, ens0, enp0, ens0, or similar)

Mac OSX 10.5 and newer:

• System Preferences -> Network -> Ethernet
• Copy Advanced -> Hardware/Ethernet -> MAC Address/Ethernet-ID

If you want to have your own (W)LAN network, you need a Router. In this case you have to enter the WAN MAC address of your router. You should see this address in the configuration menu of your router. The MAC address printed on the back of the router is usually not the WAN MAC address.

After activating your network connection, you must wait about 10 minutes and reboot your device. If you have entered a wrong MAC address, you can change it in the usersuite at any time.

4. Pay the membership contribution#

At the end of each month the membership contribution is due. Please make sure that you transfer the fee in time and with the correct payment description. Otherwise your network access will be blocked automatically. It always takes a few days until the money arrives in our system, so make sure you have enough buffer.

If you became a member after the 14th of the month, no fee is due for the first month.

You can view the transfer data (bank details, payment description) in the usersuite. It is also possible to transfer money once for several months or set up a standing order. Your credit balance is also displayed in the usersuite.

5. Participate#

The student network is run entirely on a voluntary basis by students like you. From member support to network administration and event organization there are many areas in which you can also participate. It is not necessary to study something like computer science, because we are happy to teach you the necessary basics.
